"We have always wanted to visit Antarctica and I can
honestly say that the PONANT cruise on L'Austral was the best trip
we have ever done. We had never done a cruise before and so did not
know what to expect but the trip absolutely exceeded all our
expectations!
From the flat crossing of The Drake Passage (once a year
apparently) to the most amazing scenery, colours and wildlife, it
truly was the trip of a lifetime. Who knew ice was blue and
turquoise and penguins have superhighways??
The crew and expedition leaders could not have been more helpful
and informative and we felt privileged to see such an amazing and
unspoilt environment.
The food, drink and amenities were as good as you would expect on a
French cruise line and we were the only Brits with a few Aussies
and Kiwis. Everything is explained in both French and English and
the organisation and attention to detail was second to none. I
would not hesitate to recommend the trip." Mr Leatham, New Years Day in the Polar Region,
Antarctica, December 2018 Antarctica Cruises
"Greetings from Antarctica!
This trip is absolutely amazing. We are loving it. Hope you like
these Chinstrap Penguins that we met on the aptly named Penguin
Island in the South Shetlands.
Took our first steps on the white continent this morning. Weather
good and sea calm. The Lyrial broke the Ponant record for crossing
the Drake Passage doing it in 1 day, 13 hours and 20
minutes!" Mr and Mrs Hutchinson,

"Dear Ruxandra, I want to thank you for all your
assistance in booking this cruise. We sailed from Porec on
September 22 and we had an exceptional experience. The boat, the
crew, the tour director, the itinerary and Captain Joe, who treated
us like family.- all surpassed our dreams. Many thanks for making
all this possible!" Ms Barry, from
Porec to Dubrovnik, September 2018 Adriatic Queen Cruises
"The cruise
from Opatija on the Amalia was lovely. We were pleasantly surprised
to learn that the ship, whilst contracted to the Katarina Line, was
privately owned by the skipper and was named Amalia for his wife
who was our cook. Although there were only 34 passengers they came
from Canada, South Africa, France, Germany and Denmark as well as
the UK. It was a relaxing week with visits to several islands, each
of which had its own character. The daily opportunities for at
least one swim in the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic Sea -
always within 100 metres of a rocky shore - were appreciated by
most of the passengers" Mr Kessler,

"The snacking polar bear was incredible. We watched
first from the zodiac and then from our balcony.
We went up almost to 82 degrees North to the polar ice and it was
nowhere near as thick as I expected. We went around in zodiacs to
see it close to. There was very little ice around Svalbard itself
which is probably why we only saw two seals - one in a polar bear's
mouth and the other lounging on some ice near a glacier!"

We didn't expect to be treated as if we were royalty but that's

"We're still on a high with our Antarctica trip. It's
certainly something we won't forget in a hurry. We had high
expectations for the trip and I can honestly say it exceeded in
every department.
The ship was beautiful, with a very well designed cabin and the
service was second to none. The food in the restaurant was
excellent. All excursions were very well organised. We wouldn't
hesitate to book another cruise with Ponant. I wouldn't like to
cruise any other way now as I think we've been truly spoilt."
Mr and Mrs Smith, January 2018, Le
Soleal, Antarctica Antarctica Cruises
"We had a
brilliant trip to Antarctica, which exceeded both our
expectations.
The ship (Le Soleal) was comfortable and brilliantly run, with all
the staff (room stewards, bars and restaurants, reception, and even
the bridge crew) exceptionally helpful and friendly. As you would
expect on a French ship, the food and wines were excellent for
catering on that scale (roughly 200 clients). The zodiac landings
and tours were varied, and very well run by the dozen or so
knowledgeable and enthusiastic Expedition Leaders. We also got to
stretch our legs on 3 optional walks, the longest being about 7 km,
which was well appreciated.
The scenery, particularly on the Antarctic Peninsula, was
breathtaking, including glaciers, some massive tabular icebergs,
and smaller ones carved into all kinds of shapes and colours.
We saw 6 of the 7 species of penguins (including some massive
colonies), and fell in love with the Rock Hoppers, which are quite
mad. Also, large albatross colonies on South Georgia. Many seals
(Fur, Crab Eater, Weddell, Leopard, and Elephant) of course, some
at very close quarters, but also out on ice flows. Towards the end
of the cruise, before heading back across Drake's Passage, we were
lucky enough to see several schools of Type B Orca very close to
the ship. We had seen several Humpbacks basically cruising around
various bays, but probably the highlight of the trip was in one
particular bay (Dalmann?) there were at least 20 Humpbacks in
several schools, with many of them actively fishing i.e.
bubble-netting! You could see and hear the effort that they were
exerting, with massive plumes and intakes of air as they surfaced,
at times just within a few metres of the ship. Amazing, and not
expected."

"I'm writing to say how much l enjoyed my trip to
Antarctica aboard Le Boréal. I hadn't previously cruised with
Ponant and, as a seasoned traveller, wasn't disappointed.
The ship is lovely - sleek, modern and very comfortable with
well-appointed cabins. There is a good ambience on board from the
Captain down and the crew were always very helpful and courteous.
The naturalists we had were enthusiastic and knowledgeable which
really helped to make the excursions special ( l loved the zodiacs!
). As for the food and wine - what can l say? It's French, it's
wonderful!
Antarctica is not just a holiday, it's a truly incomparable
experience. Thank you Ponant"

"Noumea,
New Caledonia to Dunedin, New Zealand -
This was a lovely relaxing way to spend the Christmas holidays
visiting a variety of places. Weather was glorious and the food and
wine excellent. Service with Ponant was as perfect as we have come
to expect. There is such attention to detail and leaving the ship
on visits is such a smooth operation. Russell in the Bay of Islands
was our first port of call in New Zealand, appropriate as it was
the first permanent European settlement. Auckland and the islands
in Auckland Bay provided interesting contrasts - the fast
developing city waterfront, the volcanic island of Rangitoto and
the beautiful beaches, vineyards and olive groves of Waiheke
Island. The mud pools, hot springs and geo-thermal pools of Rotarua
provided an exciting day out as did the beautiful Botanical Gardens
of Wellington. The cruise ended with visits to the majestic Milford
Sound and Dusky and Doubtful Sound. We spent an excellent morning
in Dunedin with more lovely gardens and the steepest street in the
world as we waited for the new passengers to embark."
"The Sub-Antarctic Islands -
Wow! An expedition cruise has a very different feel to a regular
cruise. As soon as the distinctive free red parkas were issued
along with the wellington boots there was a feeling of great
expectation. We couldn't have imagined just how amazing the trip
was going to be. The team of naturalists was so enthusiastic and so
keen to share their knowledge. The lectures were entertaining and
informative. We spent two days in Dusky and Doubtful and Milford
Sound where earlier rain had made the waterfalls spectacular. Then
we headed south to the Sub -Antarctic Islands. These islands are
pristine with many endemic species and there were high levels of
bio-security to make sure we did not introduce any alien matter. It
was a privilege to be so close to the wildlife. Seeing our first
penguins at The Snares was just so exciting and on a beautiful
sunny day with clear blue sky. The quantities of king, emperor and
gentoo penguins at Macquarie Island was hard to believe along with
the seals and numerous birds. Every island was very different and
offered new species and some fantastic geological formations. Being
in the zodiac with penguins and seals swimming so close to us was
just a wonderful experience. We had perfect sea conditions and
unusually good weather and consider ourselves extremely lucky to
have been amongst the very few people who get an opportunity to
visit these amazing islands. All this alongside Ponant's excellent
service, wonderful food and wine and attention to every detail. It
was brilliant!" Mr and Mrs Hutchinson,

"I must admit I was
skeptical at first. I did plenty of price comparing between the so
called "cruise experts" and was surprised to find eWaterways a more
affordable choice. From the very start, our booking agent Ruxandra,
was very professional and knowledgeable. But there was also a very
likable "human factor" when she spoke of her own travel experiences
and gave us great tips for making the most of our trip. I would
book again with Ruxandra and eWaterways. Our cruise from Basel to
Amsterdam was all we had hoped for including the beautiful
unseasonable weather. This small ship was new, well appointed, and
had the best staff ever. There was a rattle in the venting that
gave us some sleeplessness, but after a few comments to the desk,
the engineer followed up and was able to fix the problem. The shore
excursions were great, by the way, and the director on board was
outstanding. All in all though, it was an extraordinary trip we
will always treasure."

eWaterways,
On behalf of Harry and I, we would like to take this time to
formally thank you and your team for the trip of a lifetime. We
plan on actively and enthusiastically encouraging others to
consider eWaterways for their next vacation or travel adventure.
There were many highlights we appreciated during our tour. We loved
cruising by yachtcuzzi! What a unique cruising opportunity for any
traveler! Our favorite stops were Korcula, Brijuni, Mljet, and
Rovinj. The food aboard the Adriatic Queen was really delicious.
Many guests, including us, raved how impressed they were with the
locally-inspired, nicely prepared cuisine. Our cabin was spacious
and cleaned to perfection everyday. We walked away feeling
confident in promoting this experience to even our closest family
members and friends. In addition, we left with fabulous memories
that will forever be associated with our experience with
eWaterways."

cloud and sun characterised the weather which is kinder now than it
was in the 1800s when numerous explorers searched for a sea route

birds made guest appearances. This was an amazing experience: going

"Cruising in Croatia is
absolutely the best way to see this stunning country! You just need
to unpack once and then every day you are in a new place! The towns
and villages that we moored up at during our cruise where
breathtaking (Opatija, Krk, Rab, Zadar) and so easy to walk around.
The towns are spotlessly clean, everyone speaks great English and
the food the local konobas was fantastic. Life on board is at a
wonderfully relaxing pace, with breakfast and lunch included.
During the day we would also moor up in secluded bays and flop off
the back of the boat and go for a swim in crystal clear
waters...bliss!
We were on board the Ocean (A+ ship) and were a very jolly group
of 30 passengers from all over the world which really added to the
atmosphere. The cabins were all en suite and clean and have
adequate space for storing your clothes (but you don't need much
more than swimming costume, T shirts and shorts!)
If you are looking for a 'taster' holiday to Croatia then I would
say that this is quite simply the BEST option to choose!"

"Superb
Croatian island hopping tour" Taken
from Trip Advisor Croatia Coastal Cruises
"Booked this
Ewaterways Croatian Island hopping tour on a whim, through Travel
Zoo last February. Could not find any reviews at the time. So went
along with a sense of apprehension. Included in the trip was a
night at the Marriot Hotel Gatwick the night before a 6am flight.
Were met in Dubrovnik airport and tranfered to the boat, along with
our fellow travellers. The boat was an A+ class carrying 38
passengers. after a welcome meeting and crew introduction we were
shown our cabin, which was very nice and far better than we
expected. We had 2 single beds, a toilet and shower. There were
plenty of electric points for hair dryers (not supplied) and
chargers etc. My only gripe was the bed was a bit hard and gave me
back ache. The first evening we had dinner on board, and this was a
bit of a worry as it wasn't much to write home about, it could only
get better, and did it get better? improved everyday. Breakfast was
at 8am everyday, continental style , but you could pay extra for
english 5 euros, we found continental lovely. The second day we
were given a guided tour of Dubrovnik, then an evening meal on our
return to the boat. On the third moring we set sail shortly after
breakfast, and reached the island of Mjet some 5 hours later, with
plenty of drinks on the way. They have a white board behind the bar
and all your drinks are recorded, you settle your bill at the end
of the trip, it's not very expensive, like the rest of Croatia. The
following day we set sail for Korkula, stopping along the way for a
swim in a secluded bay (bliss). Korkula is a lovely island with an
ancient old town. The following day it was onto Hvar, another 2
swimming stops on the way. Once again a very pretty island,a bit
livelier, with plenty of the sailing set around. every Island we
visited we had our own guide to show us around and inform us of all
the history. We finally arrived in Split on the 6th day, had
another guided tour, which to us was the best city, really loved it
and will definately go back there. The following day we had a coach
trip to Bosnia, some of our party didn't want to do it. We were so
glad that we went (Mostar).Would not go back there, but glad we did
it, not as clean as Croatia, but the old town is fantastic with
it's unique architecture. Then just to finish things off we had our
last night in the Radison Blue hotel (included) Split. Lovely
hotel, nothing to fault, before flying home from Split airport
sunday morning. To sum up this was a fantastic holiday, it is what
you make it. We found 4 other lovely people and became very good
friends, try to mix and you will have a fantastic time. There were
some very miserable people on our boat, but they stood out. The
crew were fantastic, especially the chef who never stopped smiling,
and our barman Malaka who worked is socks off. Croatia accept Euro
or Kuna, take Kuna, as the locals seem to like it more. Nearly
everyone speaks english. Plenty of places to change money on the
islands as well as mainland. Take bottled water on board as you
can't drink tap water. Take footwear when swimming near shore as
there are sea urchins close to shore. Would recommend this trip to
anyone fantastic!!! Never laughed so much in one week."Visited September 2011, A+ ship, Mr & Mrs

beyond description - absolutely awesome!"G Ognall, June 2010Adventure Cruises
"My Christmas Market Cruise on
the Rhine was straight out of a Fairytale. We arrived soon after a
heavy snow storm and all around us the virgin white, snow filled,
landscape was the most inviting and ideal scene to set off the
essence of Christmas and have us all settle in to the spirit of the
advent. The Christmas markets along the way with their twinkling
bright lights illuminating the winter air and the widely available
gluwein warming up the atmosphere were all part of the
memorable experiences of this magical voyage, on board a quality
river cruiser with attentive and hospitable staff. The food on
board was plentiful and exquisite and certainly an experience to be
repeated again next year - perhaps on the neighbouring Danube next
time. Exceptional service, fantastic crew and a holiday that I will
never forget."Staff review, June

"The Coral
Princess was a brilliant ship on which to discover the
Great Barrier Reef. We snorkelled, saw incredible marine life and
were treated to a fantastic introduction to 'the deep' on board
their own glass bottomed boat!"Staff

"Just wanted to let you know
that we thought this was a superb short break. The crew of the
Premicon
Queen were wonderful, the food excellent and the
ambience great. Thanks for all your help arranging it."Mr C W, December 2009
"There aren't enough
superlatives in the English language to do the Premicon Queen justice.
I'm so glad you and your husband were able to sample the delights
yourselves so you can tell people first hand how wonderful it
is.
The food, naturally, was exquisite. Our waitress was Helene and
was so good we gave her an extra tip from 'our table'. What a
lovely girl. Another of our favourites was Stan, the concierge, and
we gave him a special cheer when the crew were introduced one by
one. Another nice touch was giving us copies of the menus and, of
course, I saved all the inineraries. All I've got to do now is
watch my DVD. Thank you so much for booking it all up for
us."P Bibby, December 2009
"A most enjoyable week on the Nile! The staff on the
'Lily' were very helpful and the service (and food) was very good.
The cabin was nicely furnished and well equiped. I did all the
trips on the way to Aswan and the guide was also very helpful.
Thank you for your help in making all the arrangements at such
short notice."G F, August

"I cannot thank eWaterways enough for making this
possible for us, as without you we would never have known that
River Cruises existed let alone one as incredible as the Premicon
Queen. We had what can only be described as the trip of a
lifetime...The service on board is Fabulous, i have never
experienced service like it, they cannot do enough for you, and
they make you feel like nothing is too much trouble. The Lunch and
Dinner menus were so varied, which was great because it means there
is something for everybody, and the food served on The Ship was
outstanding. As if all this wasn't enough you only have to go to
the Sky Deck where you have the breath taking scenery along with
its enchanting history passing you by. To say The Premicon Queen is
amazing is an under statement, it really is a once in a lifetime
experience, and i would recommend it to anybody again and again.
Thank you again eWaterways for making this possible, you've been so
wonderful, and it goes without saying that i will recommend you
too."R Dann, August 2009Premicon
