Embark

Embark in Budapest at 16.00hrs.

Day 1: Budapest

Arrive in Budapest and board your luxury Amadeus cruise ship from 4pm this afternoon. Settle into your cabin and explore the range of onboard amenities. Join your fellow guests for a Welcome Cocktail before your Welcome Dinner is served in the restaurant. Later, relax in the lounge and enjoy a gentle evening cruise - "Budapest by Night" - with a traditional folklore programme to entertain you.

Day 2: Budapest

You may choose from two optional excursions in Budapest today. The first is a city tour, taking in the main highlights of this enchanting capital. See the Fisherman's Bastion, Matthias Church, St Stephen's Cathedral and enjoy the fine views from Buda Castle. The second excursion is a trip to the artists' settlement of Szentendre, located in the scenic Danube Bend region. Alternatively, spend the day at leisure, before setting sail during the afternoon.

Day 3: Bratsilava - Vienna

Today's first port of call is the Slovakian capital, Bratislava, where you can join an optional tour of the historic city centre. The ship sets sail at lunch time, heading towards the Austrian capital, Vienna. Upon arrival, you may choose to join the optional "Vienna by Night" excursion, for a unique, "after dark" perspective.

Day 4: Vienna

Wake in Vienna this morning and choose from a variety of optional excursions. You may opt for a morning city tour, showcasing the main architectural highlights such as the Ringstrasse, Hofburg Palace and St Stephen's Cathedral. In the afternoon you can visit Schoenbrunn Palace or just spend the afternoon exploring independently. This evening you may attend an optional concert by a Viennese Orchestra. The ship departs from Vienna in the early hours.

Day 5: Vienna - Melk

Today you can join an optional excursion to Duernstein for a city walk and wine tasting session. Later the ship arrives in Melk where there is an optional afternoon tour of the Wachau region, incorporating a visit to the impressive Benedictine Abbey at Melk. Depart from the Wachau in the evening and continue your journey west along the Danube.

Day 6: Linz - Passau

You will arrive in Linz early this morning, ready for an optional city walking tour. Alternatively, you can join an excursion to Salzburg and the lakes and mountains region of the Salzkammergut, departing from Linz and re-joining the ship later in Passau. In Passau you can opt to join a walking tour of the city, returning to the ship in time for the Captain's Gala Dinner, complete with a show performed by the crew.

Day 7: Regensburg - Kehlheim

Sailing overnight, the ship reaches Regensburg this morning and you may disembark for an optional walking tour of the city. Set sail for Kehlheim at lunchtime and enjoy a pleasant afternoon cruise before arriving in the early evening. Alternatively, join an optional tour to Weltenburg Monastery which departs from Regensburg and returns you back to the ship in Kehlheim in the late afternoon.

Day 8: Passau - Prague

The ship arrives into Passau early this morning and after a final breakfast on board, disembark the ship. Transfer to the Czech capital of Prague for a two night stay.

Day 9: Prague

Today's optional tour takes you on a discovery of Prague. See Wenceslas Square, one of the sites of the uprisings during the Velvet Revolution, Charles Bridge, the Old Town Square and the National Theatre. The rest of the day is free for you to explore this charming city at your leisure.

Day 10: Prague - Dresden

Check out this morning and take a transfer to the German city of Dresden. In the afternoon you may choose to join an optional city sightseeing tour, taking in the famous Frauenkirche, the Semper Opera, Old Town and Palace. Overnight in your hotel in Dresden.

Day 11: Dresden - Berlin

Leave Dresden this morning and commence your journey to Berlin. Upon arrival in Berlin, check in to the hotel where you will spend the next two nights.

Day 12: Berlin - Postdam

This morning begins with an optional city tour of the new German capital. Berlin is rich in both history and culture and today's tour will take you to see some of the city's highlights such as the Kaiser-Wilhelm Memorial Church, the iconic Brandenburg Gate and Checkpoint Charlie. In the afternoon you can join an optional excursion to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Potsdam where you will visit the famous Palace of Sanssouci. Tonight there will be a Farewell Dinner in the hotel to mark the last night of your tour.

Day 13: Berlin

After a final breakfast in the hotel, it is time to check out and commence your onward journey.

Services end as you check out of your hotel in Berlin on Day 13.
