Le Champlain

Great Lakes of North America from Quebec

Launching in 2018, Le Champlain is one of a new series of Explorer ships that remain true to the Ponant spirit, embodying the unique atmosphere that is the cruise line’s hallmark: a subtle blend of refinement, intimacy and comfort. The ship offers guests elegantly designed cabins, spacious suites with large windows, and lounge areas that open onto the outside, this new limited-capacity yacht boasting just 92 cabins and suites will offer you a truly unique cruising experience.





Embark the ship in Quebec City.

Day 1: Quebec City

Join Le Champlain in the Quebec City in the early evening. There will be time to settle in to your stateroom before your first gourmet dinner on board tonight. The ship will depart at 16h30.

Day 2: St Lawrence Seaway Passage

Traverse the St Lawrence Sea Passage arriving in Toronto.

Day 3: Toronto - Sailing Thousand Islands - Welland Canal Locks

The ship arrives into the multicultural city of Toronto at lunchtime where you will find soaring skyscrapers, international museums and galleries and world-class restaurants. Later continue sailing through Thousand Islands, an archipelago of 1,864 islands that straddles the Canada-U.S. border in the Saint Lawrence River. It is a region of endless shorelines, rich history and unique culture.

Day 4: Port Colborne - Sailing Lake Erie

Arrive in the morning at Port Colborne, a thriving city on Lake Erie, at the southern end of the Welland Canal. Explore the world class sugarloaf marina and unique shopping districts along the historic Welland Canal. From here, you will be able to see the impressive sight of Niagara Falls . These three powerful waterfalls, renowned the world over, are an exquisite natural spectacle. Le Champlain will then sail to Lake Erie, the fourth-largest lake of the five Great Lakes.

Day 5: Sailing St Clair River - Lake Huron

Today the ship will sail along St Clair River which forms the boundary between Canada and the USA. Continue onto Lake Huron, one of the five Great Lakes of North America. Lake Huron, boasts a myriad of islands in its northern part, with white rocks capped with conifers plunging into the sapphire waters of the lake.

Day 6: Flowerpot Island

Today the ship sails along Flowerpot Island situated in Georgian Bay and part of Fathom Five National Marine Park. The Island is famous for its natural sea stacks, the “flowerpots”, as well as its caves, historic lighthouse and variety of rare plants.

Day 7: Parry Sound

Parry Sound is located on the eastern shore of the sound after which it is named. The charming waterfront town is within a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and the area is ideal for hiking, cycling and fishing.

Day 8: Little Current

Arrive in the morning at Little Current, Manitoulin Island. Here you may enjoy the Island's relaxed environment, where life moves at a slower pace, a beacon for hikers and cyclists with beautiful hikes and trails.

Day 9: Sault Ste. Marie

Spend the afternoon at Sault Ste. Marie, a city in Ontario situated on the St. Marys River and one of the oldest settlements in North America.

Day 10: Mackinac Island

The ship arrives in the morning at Mackinac Island which sits in Lake Huron, between Michigan’s Upper and Lower peninsulas. Explore this virtually traffic island, the main source of transport is bicycle and horse-drawn carriage.

Day 11: Milwaukee, Chicago

End your voyage in Milwaukee, in the US state of Wisconsin, the end of your voyage following the footsteps of the first settlers, trappers and Native Americans. After your final breakfast disembark the ship.


Disembark the city in Milwaukee, Chicago.
