Le Champlain

Natural and cultural wonders of the Caribbean with National Geographic

Launching in 2018, Le Champlain is one of a new series of Explorer ships that remain true to the Ponant spirit, embodying the unique atmosphere that is the cruise line’s hallmark: a subtle blend of refinement, intimacy and comfort. The ship offers guests elegantly designed cabins, spacious suites with large windows, and lounge areas that open onto the outside, this new limited-capacity yacht boasting just 92 cabins and suites will offer you a truly unique cruising experience.





Embark the ship Puerto Morelos.

Day 1: Puerto Morelos

Board Le Champlain in Puerto Morelos. You will have time to explore your cabin and new surroundings. Later you will join fellow guests for the captains first dinner, drinks and evening entertainment.

Day 2: Banco Chinchorro

Today Le Champlain sails to the largest coral atoll in the northern hemisphere, Banco Chinchorro, an exquisite island overflowing with rich coral and an abundance of shipwrecks. The reef is a wonderful location for diving and exploring the diverse marine life and nine shipwrecks each with a fascinating story behind them.

Day 3: Isla Utila

Today you will visit the tiny island of Utila located off the coast of Honduras. Discover its lush tropical landscapes and marine rich coastline, perfect for diving with over 80 diving sites located around the island, boasting exotic marine wildlife including the elusive whale shark.

Day 4: Livingstone

Visit the small town of Livingstone in Guatemala, a melting pot of cultures with a true Caribbean feel. Explore the town and discover beautiful freshwater pools and waterfalls leading into the Caribbean, these are locally known as Los Siete Altares.

Day 5: Half Moon Caye

Sail to the Lighthouse Reef Atoll, the furthest of Belize’s three atolls from the mainland, and one of only four such atolls in the Western Hemisphere. You will visit the Half Moon Caye where you can enjoy pristine sandy beaches and great snorkeling.

Day 6: Calabash Caye

Arrive at Calabash Caye, situated in the Turneffe Atoll that is closely protected by a barrier reef not far offshore. The picturesque caye is home to a number of threatened and endangered species including the American crocodile and Hawksbill sea turtle.

Day 7: Isla Mujeres

Spend the day relaxing on Isla Mujeres, an idyllic island known for its white sandy beaches and turquoise sea, rich in marine wildlife. Once a tranquil island, it has managed to retain its serene island-like vibe despite its growing popularity.

Day 8: Puerto Morelos

Your voyage ends in Puerto Morelos where you will disembark the ship.
