Embark

Take your international flight from London to Yangon, followed by an overnight stay at hotel in Yangon. Transfer to the airport for domestic flight to Bagan, where you will be met at the airport and taken to board the Road To Mandalay.

Day 1: London - Yangon

Board an overnight flight from London to Yangon.

Day 2: Yangon

Upon arrival in Yangon, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for the night. The rest of the day is free for you to explore this fast-changing and fascinating city at your leisure.

Day 3: Yangon - Bagan

Transfer to the airport for a domestic flight to Bagan, where you will be met and transferred to the Road To Mandalay. In the afternoon your guide will escort you into Bagan where over 2,000 temples and pagodas remain on an awe-inspiring plain. Watch the sun setting before returning to the ship for dinner.

Day 4: Sagaing

The ship arrives at the village of Shwe Kyet Yet after lunch, where you can enjoy an afternoon excursion to Sagaing considered to be the living centre of Buddhist faith in Myanmar and famous for its silversmiths who still work in much the same way as their ancestors did. Return to the ship for dinner.

Day 5: Shwe Kyet Yet

The ship arrives at the village of Shwe Kyet Yet after lunch, where you can enjoy an afternoon excursion to Sagaing considered to be the living centre of Buddhist faith in Myanmar and famous for its silversmiths who still work in much the same way as their ancestors did. Return to the ship for dinner.

Day 6: Maymyo

Today you can enjoy a full day excursion to Maymyo, a colonial hill station set high in the mountains. Soak up the atmosphere with its cool climate, English style houses, beautiful botanic gardens and colourful market. Experience a typical Shan lunch at a local colonial house. Return to the ship for dinner and local entertainment in the evening.

Day 7: Mingun

After a sumptuous breakfast, the ship cruises to Mingun. Here you can visit the most important sights including the Hsinbyume Pagoda and the world's largest uncracked bell. Return to the ship for lunch, followed by a guided tour of the main sights of Mandalay regarded as the centre of Burmese culture and Buddhist learning. Return to the ship for dinner.

Day 8: En route to Bagan

This morning, join a morning walking tour of a traditional Burmese village, where you can discover the Burmese way of life first hand from farming and handicrafts to spirit houses and tea shops. Return to the ship for lunch as it sets sail for Bagan once more. Spend the rest of the day relaxing on board, admiring the passing local river life and enjoying the ship's amenities. You may wish to join an on-board lecture on the Myanmar way of life. Enjoy a casual cocktail party tonight followed by dinner on board.

Day 9: Mount Popa

Today you can join a full day excursion to Mount Popa, a national park believed to be the sacred home of powerful spirits (Nats). Climb a winding covered walkway to a picturesque complex of monastries, pagodas and shrines.

Day 10: Bagan - Yangon

Disembark in Bagan early this morning and transfer to the airport. From here you will catch a short flight to Yangon and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to explore Yangon. Overnight in your hotel.

Days 11 - 12: Yangon - London

You will be met at your hotel today and transferred to the airport for your overnight flight back to London.

Disembark

Disembark the ship in Bagan and transfer to the airport for a domestic flight to Yangon and overnight stay in a hotel. The following day you will transfer to the airport for your overnight flight to London.
