Embark in Salerno at 4pm.

Day 1: Salerno - Capri

Join the Variety Voyager in Salerno this afternoon and enjoy a Welcome Cocktail as you depart for Capri. Here you can take an optional walking tour around the city to the Gardens of Augustus before reboarding the ship in time for dinner.

Day 2: Lipari

The ship arrives into Lipari, the largest of the Aeolian Islands, early this morning. After breakfast you may wish to join an optional sightseeing tour to discover the history of the island which dates back as far as 1700 BC. Return to the ship for lunch and cruise to Taormina in Sicily.

Day 3: Taormina

Head ashore for a tour of Taormina this morning. With endlessly winding medieval streets, secluded gardens, elegant palaces and a magnificent amphitheatre overlooking the sea, this is sure to be a memorable visit. In the afternoon you can remain in Taormina to explore at your leisure or take an optional tour to Mount Etna.

Day 4: Syracuse

Today the ship arrives into Syracuse, a former rival to Athens and one of the most prestigious cities of the Hellenistic world. This morning's optional tour takes you to the impressive 15000 seat Greek theatre, the elliptical Roman amphitheatre, the Archeological Museum and the Old Town on the island of Ortygia. In the afternoon you can choose to join a tour to the Baroque towns of Sicily's southeastern inland region or remain in Syracuse.

Day 5: Malta

Today's port of call is Malta and here you can choose from a range of optional tours which introduce you to the island's prehistoric sites, as well as the historic sights of Valetta, the country's capital and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the evening the Variety Voyager leaves Malta to return to Sicily.

Day 6: Licata - Agrigento

This morning you can join a trip north from Licata to discover Agrigento's majestic Valley of Temples, a collection of sacred buildings including the well-preserved Temple of Concordia and the Temple of Hera dating back to the 5th century BC.

Day 7: Cefalu

The ship will drop anchor in Cefalu today. Step ashore to visit this quaint Sicilian city which still retains much of its medieval character. Join a morning optional tour to see the famous Norman catheral with its great 12th century mosaic. In the afternoon pass Stromboli, one of the world's few constantly active volcanoes, en route back to Salerno.
