Classic Northern Maldives Cruise (8 Days)

The Yasawa Princess is a 60 passenger ship, offering idyllic cruises around the Maldives, a country made up of some of the bluest lagoons and finest atolls in the world. On board the ship, the atmosphere is distincly laid-back. You can choose to swim and snorkel off pristine white sandbanks, enjoy night barbecues on uninhibited islands, or just relax on the sun deck with a book and your favourite drink in hand. The ship's 33 cabins are arranged over three decks and onboard amenities include indoor and outside dining areas, a bar, a professional dive centre and an inviting sun deck.

A transfer from Ibrahim Nasir International Airport is included and boarding takes place in the afternoon.

Day 1: Monday

You will be met at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport and taken to board the Yasawa Princess. After safety briefings there will be a chance for certified divers and those who would like to learn to dive to check in at the Dive Centre. Then you can enjoy your first dinner on board.

Day 2: Tuesday

Spend the day snorkelling, sunbathing and relaxing at Kuda Bandos, or 'Picnic Island'. Divers can enjoy a full day of exploration at sites such as Maagiri, Okobe Thila and Manta Point. In the evening, enjoy the sundowner of the day and dinner on board.

Day 3: Wednesday

Spend the morning at the pristine white sandbank of Koajadi Finolhu and in the afternoon your cruise continues to Ari Atoll. Divers can choose to take a single morning dive or a two tank dive and sites include Kuda Haa, Hulhangu Kandu and Baros Thila.

Day 4: Thursday

Today's port of call is the Velidhu Island Resort, where you can snorkel on the House Reef and relax and sunbathe on the island's beaches. The resort also offers spa facilites which can be booked in advance. Two dives are available today and sites include Hafsa Thila, Miyaru Gaa Thila and Gangehi Pass.

Day 5: Friday

An early morning cruise brings you to Meerufenfushi, a deserted island with a big lagoon and easy access from the beach for swimming and snorkelling. Divers will enjoy today's dives at Fish Head, Hohola Thila and Kandholhudhoo Faru.

Day 6: Saturday

This morning you will take a short cruise to Dhiggiri and you can spend a full day on the island. The crew will prepare a picnic lunch and in the evening you'll enjoy a beach barbecue with fun games. Divers can choose to take a morning, afternoon or full day dive trip to sites including Kashibo Thila, Lhamiyaru Gaa and Reethi Thila.

Day 7: Sunday

An early cruise brings you back to Male. There will be a stop at the Kalhuhuraa Finolhu sandbank for a last swim. In the afternoon you can explore Male, the capital of the Maldives and divers can visit Vaagali Caves or Vellasaru Caves (divers should ensure that they do not fly within 24 hours of this dive).
